Former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler is currently trending under "Law and Government" due to recent legal issues involving a driving under the influence (DUI) arrest and subsequent legal proceedings.

In October 2024, Cutler was arrested in Franklin, Tennessee, after he rear-ended another vehicle. Police reports indicated he was visibly intoxicated, and he allegedly offered the other driver $2,000 not to involve law enforcement. Officers also found a rifle and a loaded pistol in his truck, leading to additional charges including possessing a gun while intoxicated.

In August 2025, Cutler pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor DUI charge as part of a plea deal. The weapon possession charge was dismissed after he forfeited the pistol. As a result, he was sentenced to four days in jail, a $350 fine, one year of unsupervised probation, and was required to attend a DUI safety course. His Tennessee driver's license was also revoked. Cutler began serving his jail sentence in September 2025.

Most recently, in October 2025, bodycam footage from his arrest was released, showing details of the incident, including Cutler's initial denial of drinking and his refusal to take a field sobriety test. His blood alcohol content was later measured at .23, which is nearly three times the legal limit in Tennessee. These events have kept "Jay Cutler" in the news, leading to his trend under the "Law and Government" category due to the criminal charges, court proceedings, and legal consequences.
