"New World" is trending because Amazon Games, the company behind the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), has announced that it will no longer be releasing new content updates for the game.

The background for this decision stems from significant layoffs that recently impacted Amazon's gaming division. Amazon Games stated that after four years of updates, continuing to support the game with new content was "no longer sustainable." This also reflects a shift in Amazon's strategy, moving away from a heavy focus on developing large online games like "New World."

Although new content development has stopped, the game's servers are planned to remain active through 2026, and Amazon has promised to give players at least six months' notice before making any changes that would stop them from playing.
